San Juan County's new Emergency Manager Mike Mestas discusses taking over the department from longtime manager Don Cooper who recently retired. There have been no shortage of emergencies since Mestas took over: the ongoing Animas Valley Water crisis, Bloomfield Irrigation Ditch damage, WPX Fire south of Bloomfield, Shiprock Flooding and the fire and evacuation at the APS/Four Corners Power Plant. All required response and coordination by the Office of Emergency Management.
