Dr. Paul Roof discusses the San Juan College Apple Blosson Beard and Moustashe Competition, 7pm, Thursday, April 6, 2017, in the San Juan College Little Theater.
Sponsored by the San Juan College School of Humanities, and Professional and Support Staff Associations, the event will be hosted by Dr. Paul D. Roof, educator and facial hair enthusiast. For a $5 entry fee, participants will compete in three categories – Beard, Mustache, and Partial, which includes goatees, sideburns and beard with no mustache. The event is open to all ages. The audience will select winners for best, longest and most original, by voting with their spare change. All proceeds from the event will benefit a local charity.
Participants are required to pre-register by contacting the San Juan College Box Office at 566-3465. Rules and regulations are also available by calling the SJC Box Office.
In addition to the Beard and Mustache Contest, Dr. Roof will also discuss his experiences as they relate to life, social media and beard culture.

Join the march at 5:30pm from W. Main & Bowman Avenue (near Safeway & Parkers) to Orchard Plaza Park (Main & Orchard). Guest speakers and a candlelight vigil will take place at Orchard Plaza Park after the marchers arrive.
