PNM-San Juan Generating Station Integrated Resource Plan (IRP)

Pat O'Connell, Director of Planning and Resources for PNM discusses the company's Power Planning Presentation in Farmington from 7-9pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Henderson Fine Arts Center at San Juan College.  PNM is proposing eliminating the use of coal-fired power generation by 2031, which could put the future of the San Juan Generating Station and associated San Juan Mine in jeapordy.  
In the second-half of the program, Mike Eisenfeld, Energy & Climate Program Manager for the San Juan Citizens Alliance, discusses what a possible move away from coal could mean for San Juan County and economic development efforts.

4 Corners Economic Development CEO Warren Unsicker discusses the scoping meetings held regarding an Environmental Impact Statement for the San Juan Mine.  Unsicker says there are concerns the future of the mine and nearby PNM/San Juan Generating Station could be in jeopardy.  More here.
