Thursday May 05, 2016
Thursday May 05, 2016
This week our Cinema Geeks review My Neighbor Totoro, Arsenic & Old Lace, and out in theaters now, Keanu~
First up is My Neighbor Totoro, a Studio Ghibli feature from writer/director Hayao Miyazaki that tells the tale of two young girls whose family moves to the country to be closer to the sanitarium where their mother lies deathly ill. As they adapt to their new home and lifestyle changes, they discover and manage to befriend the local house and forest spirits that reside nearby.
After that is Arsenic & Old Lace, which stars Cary Grant as a marriage-phobic new husband who is about to embark on his honeymoon only to discover that his dear old spinster aunts hold a darkly comedic secret. Not only that, but his murderous brother, Johnathan, has returned as well with his own baggage in tow.
Finally, out in theaters now is Key and Peele in Keanu, where the comedic duo play cousins who are swept up with gangsters, murderers, and drug lords on their quest to rescue the cute kitten Keanu that has been cat-napped from their home.
