Vinny Zicolello, San Juan College's Chief Information Officer, discusses the 12th Annual Technology Leadership Conference, Friday, September 16, 2016 in the Henderson Fine Arts Center. The conference is free to attend, but registration is required here.
The four conference speakers – Andrew Thompson, Mike Belcher, Scott Lowe andClarence Clay – will cover topics from the future of STEM-H education to socialengineering.
Thompsonis a design engineer at Lockheed Martin in Denver, Colorado, where he works onthe heatshield for the NASA Orion Space Program. The Orion completed a flawlessflight test and its next milestone will be a flight beyond the orbit moon.Thompson will discuss what is next for NASA and human space exploration and howthis could lead to advancements in science and education.
Belcher,HP Chief Innovation Officer for Education, will discuss the challenges facingstudents, schools and colleges. Students and schools must prepare for theinformation economy and how new technologies like virtual and augmentedreality, immersive computing and the next generation of 3D printing could bekey in enabling student’s success in the coming decades.
ScottLowe’s session will focus on the changing face of business IT and the new kindsof skills and knowledge that every IT pro and CIO must have in order to stayrelevant in a constantly shifting marketplace. Lowe is the co-founder of andlead strategist for ActualTech Media and is a technology consultant, speakerand author as well as a senior IT executive for CampusWorks.
Aretired Navy Cryptologist with 22 years of experience in social engineering,cyber terrorism, information security, cyber exercise development and cyberthreat, Clarence Clay now delights in teaching social engineering techniquesand sharing past experiences with both the military and civilian sectors. Withthe advancement of technology, social engineering has become more sophisticatedand has created new opportunities for adaptable criminals. Clay will discusshow cybersecurity has evolved, and how social engineering preys on thequalities of human nature. He has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in ComputerScience and Cybersecurity, as well as various computer industry certifications.
