Archaeologist Paul Reed discusses work by UNM Anthropology Professor Patricia Crown that evidence of caffeine use has been found in mugs and other containers.  The caffeine, from cacao (chocolate) or Holly, may have been used in religious or political events and probably wan't made available to everyone.
